When planning to introduce Body-Cams, questions may arise. In our Body-Cam FAQ, we have already answered the most common ones for you. If you still have further questions, feel free to contact us.
A Body-Cam with a front display shows during recording what is being filmed. This allows all involved to follow what the Body-Cam is capturing. Troublemakers can be deterred by this “mirror function” (as they can see themselves on the Body-Cam display). This de-escalation effect helps to calm situations that are often dangerous for workers in public spaces.
Body-Cam recordings can be stored up to two minutes before the start of each recording. In sudden conflict situations, valuable material is therefore already captured before the actual recording begins.
Battery life always depends on the Body-Cam configuration and intensity of use. In any case, the battery of our Body-Cam lasts for an entire shift — so you don’t have to worry about it not being ready for use when you need it due to low battery power.
We recommend placing the Body-Cam directly in the SmartHub after each shift.
Body-Cam recordings are subject to strict data protection regulations and must be protected from access by third parties to prevent distribution or manipulation of the material. Therefore, Body-Cams in the security sector are used exclusively with software. The software ensures that authorized persons have access to Body-Cam recordings and are able to manage and play them back.
Depending on the provider, Body-Cam software solutions may differ. The NetCo Suite can be seamlessly integrated into all customer networks and is, of course, legally compliant. Thanks to its simple and user-friendly operation, you will quickly find your way around. If you have any questions, our customer service is always available to assist you.
Body-Cam recordings are transferred to the NetCo Suite using our SmartHub. The transfer is fast but depends on the file size of the image or video material.
Additionally, a connection via LTE can be established for data transmission.
By the way, the SmartHub also ensures that the Body-Cam battery is quickly recharged.
All our products are developed and manufactured in compliance with GDPR. As a “Made in Germany” provider, data protection is very important to us. Therefore, unauthorized third parties cannot access Body-Cam material — manipulation is thus excluded.
If desired, we will gladly send you our Body-Cam guide. In it, you will find important information on the topic of “data protection-compliant use of Body-Cams.”
Before Body-Cams are used in your organization, it is important to familiarize yourself with data protection regulations.
The correct use of the Body-Cam is also essential: before starting a recording, the other party must be informed that the Body-Cam is being activated (transparency requirement). Recording video and audio with a Body-Cam affects the personal rights of those involved and therefore requires justification. Recording may only take place if a person displays aggressive behavior (physical attacks or threats) or if a situation is about to escalate.
In addition, uninvolved third parties must not be recorded. Fixed retention and deletion periods for Body-Cam material must also be observed.
We are happy to go through all of this with you again before you start using your Body-Cam.
If a Body-Cam recording was made in compliance with data protection regulations, it may be admissible in court. Each federal state has its own regulations on how Body-Cam material is handled in court proceedings.
In public places, a Body-Cam may be worn. However, “permanent” recording is not permitted. Recording may take place within the scope of the company’s property rights. In such cases, this must be clearly indicated, as unauthorized and unannounced recording of individuals without their consent is not legally permitted.
